21st Century Learning Skills
A look at 21st century learning skills reveals that at Mallya Aditi International School, Bangalore teaching and learning straddle the areas of delivery of core subjects, 21st century content, learning and thinking skills, ICT Literacy and Life Skills.
ACS Beirut at the Spring Conference in Athens
Over the Spring Break, twenty-two ACS teachers and administrators attended the annual Spring NESA Conference that was held in Athens, Greece from March 31st to April 2nd 2007. The school, which has fully sponsored three workshops, provided another seventeen professional development grants to support teachers in attending the NESA conference in Athens.
A Double Feature for Aspiring Writers
The American Community School of Abu Dhabi and American School of Dubai teamed up to host two weeks of author visits in March this year. Suzanne Fisher Staples and Kathleen Duey joined the schools as writers in residence, with each author devoting one week to each venue. They shared their inspirations and experience as professional writers, and helped the students build their own stories and story ideas.
Along the Dunes
Middle school students at The American School of Doha produce their own literary magazine.The title, Jemb al Dunes, is a combination of Arabic and English, representing the predominant languages in the region, and translating into “Along the Dunes.” 2005-06 was the magazine’s premiere, so it was a challenge to advertise the concept and collect student submissions.
