What We Do

Empowering schools to thrive in a changing world.

The Near East South Asia Council of Overseas Schools (NESA) is a non-profit association supporting private, independent American and international K–12 schools across the NESA region – from Casablanca to Kathmandu. For over 50 years, NESA has been a trusted partner in educator professional development, school improvement, and educational innovation.

We offer a robust Professional Learning Program of online and in-person events serving the full school ecosystem – school leaders and administrators, teachers, staff, students, and parents – designed to advance educator capacity, support holistic student development, nurture belonging, and cultivate excellence that is both timeless and timely.

Our Community brings together schools, educators and organizations with a shared commitment to collaborative practice, professional growth, and holistic student learning.

Our Work in Practice

Transformative Professional Learning

NESA designs professional learning experiences that cultivate professional and personal growth for educators, building shared expertise and broadening perspectives through self-reflection, dialogue, and collaborative inquiry.

Holistic Student Growth

NESA advances approaches that nurture the whole child – supporting academic excellence, social and emotional learning, and care for others and the world – by centering wellbeing, belonging, agency, and holistic growth at the heart of the student experience.

Leadership for a Changing World

In an increasingly complex educational landscape, NESA works with current and emerging school leaders to strengthen leadership capacity through collective insight, grounded practices, and strategies for navigating change.

Community Built on Care

Our region-wide community offers educators a sense of belonging and shared purpose, encouraging growth through peer support and meaningful connections across schools and roles.
