Collaborative Communities

NESA is much more than the NESA Center Team in Athens, Greece. The organization strives to fulfill its mission through the commitment and dedication of several collaborative groups of educators throughout the region, as well via online Forums and Strategic Support Sessions:


NESA Board of Trustees

A group of nine NESA heads of school, plus ex officio, the Regional Education Officer from the US State Department's Office of Overseas Schools.

Professional Development Advisory Committee (PDAC)

The 'brain trust' of NESA, the PDAC is made up of a diverse group of curriculum directors from NESA member schools. Working with NESA's Executive Director and its Director of Professional Learning, the PDAC determines conference/institute topics and themes, and identifies speakers to address the specific professional learning needs of NESA educators.

Wider Circle

Curriculum directors and/or others in leadership roles at NESA member schools who serve as liaisons between the NESA Center and the PDAC, and their schools' faculty and staff. Each member school appoints a designated individual to the Wider Circle. (PDAC members serve as their school's Wider Circle representative.)

NESA Live Forums

Member School Communities of Practice meet in monthly online live forums to share news, ideas, and strategies, and to collaborate on our common goal of school transformation. Forums for School Heads, Principals, Business Managers, Human Resources Professionals, and Wider Circle Representatives.

Strategic Support Sessions

These online, specialist-led collaborative meetings help Member Schools build connections with fellow professionals, stay current with educational imperatives, receive consultation and training, and engage in strategic planning. Participants earn a certificate of participation.
