What We Hope For: A World Cafe

Hope is an expression of confidence in life. It fuels courage, strength, and boldness instead of fear. Hope ignites determination and motivates us to set and pursue important goals.

This webinar will apply a World Café format to reframe adversity as advantage. A World Café is a simple and flexible method for connecting, collaborating, and engaging a large group in meaningful dialogue. The format includes rounds of small group conversation, focused by a purposeful inquiry and ends with a harvesting of shared insights.

In this session, the World Cafe method will be adapted to a virtual platform while maintaining the integrity and intimacy that drives human connection. We will take a collective breath, reflect on ways that recent experience informs future practice, and consider the importance of hope for school leaders, especially in challenging times.

Learning Outcomes

• Collaboratively construct meaning from recent practice to inform future goals;
• Experience and consider the World Cafe method for worksite application.

Zooming into Adult Learning: High Engagement Strategies for Virtual Presentations and Work Sessions

This interactive seminar presents practical strategies and innovative ideas for structuring and conducting engaging learning experiences for adults in a virtual environment. This one-hour introduction session offers tested principles of learning and teaching that involve adult learners in meaningful explorations of concepts, ideas, and information using online learning tools.

We will explore theory and practice by offering an effective design template and accessible presentation strategies for connecting audiences to you, to one another, and to important content.

Learning Outcomes

• Create a virtual space that balances participation and provides for all voices to be included;
• Focus attention and engage the productive energy of group members;
• Design productive work sessions that include a variety of individual, small, and full group strategies that support high levels of engagement and meaning making by participants.
