Introduction to the Compassionate Systems Framework in Schools
How can we integrate practices of compassion as a means to cultivate a generative social field?
This workshop is an invitation to explore the potential of the Compassionate Systems Framework as a means to cultivate a generative social field defined by care, connection, and compassion. Drawing from established SEL models, together with developments in the emerging field of complexity science and the study of systems, the framework builds a cognitive and affective foundation for navigating important, complex issues both inside and beyond the classroom.
You will have the opportunity to explore the value the Framework plays in integrating social, emotional and systems learning through exploring examples of practice at the International School of Zug and Luzern. Through this investigation, you will walk away with at least two tools you can use in your own work the very next day, whether with staff or students.
Describe the foundations of the Compassionate Systems Framework, especially its relationship to The Fifth Discipline;
Experiment with some practices and tools based on models from the International School of Zug and Luzern;
Determine how you may use one of the practices or tools in your current context.
