The morning session will introduce you to the Designing Our Future, revised Excellence by Design and Sustaining Excellence self-study protocols. The workshop will offer opportunities for information sharing and engaged participation. Discussions will include how to (re)structure your school’s planning team, unpack the standards and indicators for reflection, self-assessment and collection of data and other supportive evidence and to align satisfaction survey results or focus group conversations that allow representation from all your stakeholder groups with your self-assessment.
After lunch, we will focus on the final stage of the self-study process: developing your school’s plan for growth and improvement. An overview of sample objectives with baseline data along with corresponding action plan strategies/steps will be followed by small group work on creating impactful student performance and organizational capacity objectives. Time and interest permitting, we will review the Sustaining Excellence Action Research Rubric which is used in lieu of the plan for growth and improvement.
Attendees will benefit from one another and opportunities for sharing their strategic thinking that makes the accreditation process belong to the school and show continuous improvements over time that focus on students, as well as the entire school community.
