Differentiating Instruction with Mastery Learning
How can we implement Mastery Learning in modern classrooms in order to ensure that all students learn excellently?
Learn how to personalize and differentiate instruction for diverse students through the use of mastery learning instructional strategies.
We will explore how to implement mastery learning in modern classrooms, along with how to adapt these procedures to personal teaching styles, specific classroom situations, and the needs of individual students to ensure that all students learn excellently.
CONNECT & ENGAGE
This workshop will include a group presentation and discussion on the crucial elements of mastery learning, personal reflections and sharing of participants' experiences, as well as question and answer sessions to address concerns and clarify implementation issues related to formative assessments, corrective activities, enrichment/extension experiences, and re-assessment procedures.

OBJECTIVES:
To learn about the history and development of Mastery Learning, research on its effectiveness in modern classrooms, and the essential elements for implementation.
To explore strategies for ensuring high quality, sustained implementation of mastery learning policies and practices in K-12 learning environments.
To develop implementation guidelines for mastery learning, along with strategies for gathering data on its effectiveness.
REFLECT & APPLY
In collaborative, professional learning groups, participants will share reflections on their past experiences in implementing aspects of mastery learning and discuss the new strategies they plan to employ after taking part in this session.
