A 2-DAY EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING PROGRAM AT THE NESA 2023 Fall Leadership Conference IN BANGKOK, THAILAND

Led by Ivy Yan, Inspire Citizens Eco-Media Programs Director

ADVANCE SIGN-UP IS REQUIRED. Participants must also register for the Fall Leadership Conference.

There is no additional cost for this program beyond the FLC23 registration fee.
NESA will accept the first 25 sign-ups on a ‘first come, first served’ basis.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Explore time and space beyond the walls of the Fall Leadership Conference hotel with guidance from Ivy Yan of Inspire Citizens. Investigate new learning designs focused on Eco-Awareness within the local environment, happiness, sustainability and inner development.

AUDIENCE

NESA Leaders who wish to participate in an experiential program in Bangkok during #FLC23.

OUTCOMES

    • Share a mediated leadership experience designed to deepen relationships with oneself, the local environment and nature, to see them with new eyes and reveal new possibilities beyond the silos of classical schooling.
    • Investigate local surroundings to learn and grow.
    • Visit/Revisit and use the framework Theory U: Leading from the Future as it Emerges.
    • Consider the application of deep ecology, well-being, humane technology and media literacy that can be used to engage students in unpacking a complex technological landscape while creating media for a healthier, happier, and more sustainable world.

NUTS & BOLTS

    • Participants will attend all FLC23 keynotes and the afternoon program, plus the social events to mix and share with other conference delegates.
    • Participants will buy their own lunch on Friday and Saturday during the outdoor program (guidance provided).
    • Bring sunscreen, comfortable walking shoes, hats & sunglasses, water, etc.
    • Detailed program schedule to be provided at the 'Share the Journey' session on Theory U on Thursday.

Ivy Yan

CHIEF HAPPINESS OFFICER, INSPIRE CITIZENS / CO-FOUNDER, TWO BIRDS EDUCATION

IVY YAN is a sought-after educational designer and facilitator based in Shanghai and Beijing. Advocating for happiness and wellbeing of human beings and nature as a whole, she works with schools and organizations on strategic visioning, leadership coaching, and student-facing experiential learning.

She believes in holistic and progressive education through the heart, head, and hands that is rooted in self-care, care for others, and care for nature. A natural cross-pollinator who draws inspirations from her diverse training and experiences, she integrates deep ecology and traditional wisdom into design and innovation, futures thinking, and media studies.

For Inspire Citizens, she directs the Eco-Media literacy experiences and programs, while also co-facilitating the Inspire Citizens Global Citizenship Certification for Educators.
