Empathy to Impact: Deep Ecology
How Might We Learn From Nature to Be Well?
In this workshop, we'll be learning from nature to explore its harmony principles through experiential learning in the hotel garden and nearby park. By experiencing firsthand the impact of connecting with nature on well-being, you might reimagine ways of developing well-being programs for students and educators in your school.
We'll also learn from each other by reflecting on existing projects and brainstorming new possibilities to apply the learning back to your own context.
CONNECT & ENGAGE
By doing simple, mindful, and creative activities that engage the head, heart, and hands, you'll be able to develop a deeper and more affective relationship with nature that's all around us, with a group of like-minded and hearted educators that evokes curiosity, wonder and gratitude for life.
LEARN
You'll learn about the concept and pedagogy of deep ecology, its connection to well-being, and how it might enrich well-being and sustainability-related programs in your school.
REFLECT & APPLY
By reflecting on your own and our shared experiences in the workshop, you'll be able to connect the dots with the help of other educators in the room and reimagine ways that well-being initiatives can be designed and implemented in schools.
OUTCOMES
Participants will leave the workshop with a sense of joy and gratitude in their hearts, inspiration and new ideas in their hands, and a more holistic understanding of deep ecology and well-being in their minds.
