Like many schools, our teachers and leaders write personal and professional goals. We easily forget these due to the business of life and work. With the guidance of Steve Barkley, DAA teachers and leaders were asked to answer a simple, yet powerful, question: “What do my students/teachers need me to learn?”
We replaced goals with Hypothesis and engaged in cycles of inquiry and peer visits, tracking impact over time. Finally, we reflected by engaging in a 'Mississippi Slice' – a protocol where we showcase student learning over time by 'thin slicing' the most impactful practices. This session describes our journey to re-thinking professional growth.
