NESA ETI26 INSTRUCTIONAL COHERENCE INSTITUTE

Achieving Instructional Coherence: Planning Effective Core Instruction

With Cross-Cutting Pedagogies and Discipline-Specific Practices

JANUARY 22-24, 2026

This Institute equips educators to design and deliver high-quality, inclusive instruction through the lens of Universal Design for Learning (UDL). Over three days, participants will explore both cross-cutting pedagogies and discipline-specific practices to build a cohesive, student-centered approach to teaching and learning.

  • Day One: All participants engage in four interactive clinics—Inquiry, Special Needs, Gifted and Talented, and SEL/Culture & Identity—to learn strategies that strengthen learning for every student.

  • Days Two & Three: Working in disciplinary cohorts (Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Arabic, and World Languages), participants collaborate with subject specialists to tailor UDL-based lesson designs to their grade level and discipline.

By the end of the Institute, you will be prepared to deliver engaging, inclusive instruction that balances content mastery with deep disciplinary thinking,  problem-solving and creativity, and leverage AI tools for instructional planning and data-informed insights. Together with your cohort, you will break down silos, strengthen instructional coherence across disciplines, and ensure every student thrives.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Participants will:

  • Apply Inquiry as a core pedagogy across disciplines.
  • Develop strategies for embedding SEL, culture, and identity into instruction.

  • Incorporate discipline-specific practices recommended by professional associations and experts.
  • Integrate at least one AI tool to enhance lesson planning and instructional design.
  • Create lessons that balance disciplinary depth with inclusive, student-centered approaches.
  • Establish processes for ongoing reflection and refinement of instructional practices.

Earn a NESA Certificate of Completion.

Delegates will receive a hard copy of the Instructional Coherence Guidebook and access to a library of online asynchronous foundational recordings: Implementing Instructional Coherence for Inclusive Learning.
