NESA 2026 LEARNING FUTURES SUMMIT: COMPASSION IN ACTION

SUMMIT DAYS 2 & 3: MARCH 28-29, 2026
Following the shared Immersion Experience on Day One, the Student Program unfolds alongside the Educator Program, with both journeys running across the second and third days of the Learning Futures Summit.
Over the two days, students will engage in structured action planning, developing proposals grounded in their learning and lived school contexts. The program culminates in a Gallery Walk, where students present their action plans to the wider Summit community.
SUMMIT DAY TWO
Learning Block 1: Who am I
Talent inventories and exploring compassion for local and global needs.
Output: Rough project idea.
Learning Block 2: Awareness of the World
Exploring root causes of systemic issues.
Output: Deeper Investigation and research.
Learning Block 3: Compassionate Action
Community assets audits and action menus to support student agency and community engagement.
Output: Refined action plans and ideas for reciprocal community partnership.
Learning Block 4: Learning From and Acting With Community Partners
Empathetic investigation and cultural humility to support meaningful engagement, belonging, and human flourishing.
Output: Interview questions for community partners that facilitate meaningful partnership.
SUMMIT DAY THREE
Learning Block 5: What am I for?
Backmapping from desired futures.
Output: Rough project backmap and timeline.
Learning Block 6: Telling your story of Compassionate Action
Preparing for your showcase and preparing for collaboration with mentors.
Output: Artifact or presentation ready to share at gallery walk event.
Learning Block 7: Celebrating Our Journey
Preparing for the Gallery Walk Event.
Output: Set up presentations in the space and practice presentations completed.
