The 2023 NESA Heads Summit once again took place at the Bratsera Hotel on the beautiful island of Hydra, Greece, April 21-22. A record 28 heads of NESA member schools participated in two days of reflection and connection facilitated by long-time NESA collaborator Teresa Arpin, President of Transformation Systems. An optional program for the 19 spouses/partners/guests was offered focusing on personal connections and wellbeing with excursions around the island.

This year’s Heads Summit focused on nuanced leadership and how to nurture transformational skills for sustainable development. The two-day program was designed for reflecting, reconnecting and deepening relationships. Participants checked-in on their journey of the last three years and shared how they are adapting to a new reality.

The program drew on the work of Otto Scharmer's Theory U and the concept of change through building shared understanding. Heads were also guided through a Polarity Management exercise to reframe dilemmas in order to stay on the “upside” as they lead school transformation.
