This workshop will focus on creating learning spaces that best support the needs of PK-12 students and educators. Participants will be exposed to a range of contemporary practices in regards to educational and interior design and then leverage design thinking to create innovative spaces that support their respective communities.
We'll first explore a range of educational architects and contemporary spaces to stimulate our thinking before beginning the development of our own solutions. By leveraging a range of divergent and convergent strategies that support each stage of the design thinking cycle, participants will garner empathy for their communities, define authentic proposals and then rapidly prototype and test ideas. You will also walk away with a range of facilitation strategies you can implement at future professional learning events.
This workshop is for those looking to engage their community in the authentic co-creation of new learning spaces that reflect their school's unique culture.
