RENEE HOBBS is one of the world's leading authorities on digital and media literacy education. As Professor and Director of the Media Education Lab at the University of Rhode Island, she is the author of Create to Learn: Introduction to Digital Literacy, as well as many other books, publications, and award-winning multimedia. She is the Founding Co-Editor of the Journal of Media Literacy Education.
A sought-after presenter, Dr Hobbs has offered professional learning programs for educators on four continents, and co-directs the Summer Institute in Digital Literacy, a leadership development program in digital literacy. Dr Hobbs earned an EdD in Human Development from Harvard University, an M.A in Communication and B.A. in English Literature from the University of Michigan.
