KEYNOTES

HOMA TAVANGAR

Developing the Skills for Meaningful Change, Meaningful Lives

Every educator hopes their efforts leave a lasting mark on their students, but the reality of limited time in a day, and the pressures of testing and college entrance expectations leave little room for deeper learning and impact-making. In this personal and thought-provoking keynote, Homa Tavangar will explore key factors that can help foster authentic global citizenship to learn, thrive, and create leadership impact in the classroom and beyond, to a life of meaning.

MICHAEL JOHNSTON

Learning that matters: We don't prepare students for the real world; they live in the real world!

In schools, we often learn about how things might work in a hypothetical situation and tell students we are getting them ready for "The Real World". Students already live in the real world! It's time to act, create partnerships, work with mentors, and make a difference while we learn. This keynote will address the brave decisions we can make in schools to create time and space for meaningful learning for all ages. Whether we call it social entrepreneurship, service learning, or CAS, we can help students learn with real purpose and create the world we wish to see along the way.

TEACHER WORKSHOPS

Learn from colleagues, share best practice and take home practical strategies for immediate application. Here's what last year's delegates had to say about the Teacher Workshops:

These teacher workshops are real nuggets of gold that nourish my experience as a life-long learner.
They were amazing. I walked away doing self-reflection on my teaching.

I loved each and every day and left feeling rejuventated and eager to use all the new things I learned.
