ABOUT RENEE HOBBS

Renee Hobbs is an expert on integrating digital and media literacy education into elementary and secondary schools. She is a Professor of Communication and Director of the Media Education Lab at the University of Rhode Island, where she co-directs the Graduate Certificate in Digital Literacy. She has a special interest in professional development for online learning and created Virtually Viral Hangouts, a daily gathering space for educators to develop digital literacy skills during the coronavirus pandemic. Professor Hobbs is the author of numerous books including Mind Over Media, Create to Learn, The Library Screen Scene, and Copyright Clarity. She has offered professional development programs on four continents in more than 20 countries.
