This workshop examines what the research tells us makes effective school leaders in an ever-changing SEL context. Building off of the research and perspectives from CASEL, the Search Institute, and Learning for Justice, we will guide leaders through examining their own social emotional competencies, implicit beliefs, and personal constructs.
We will pay close attention to both the conditions within ourselves and within our schools required for holistic learning and wellbeing. Through reflection and peer-support, leaders will develop their ability to identify what approaches strengthen or hinder their success in leading schools to integrating students’ social, emotional, and academic development.
