Independent Schools Overseas: Identifying, Mitigating, and Managing Legal Risks
All independent schools have risks. These risks trigger reputational, financial, and other concerns each day. Schools from around the globe face similar common risks. Among these are those related to abuse of children, either by current or past educators, student to student sexual assault situations, complicated issues in technology, and other issues related to employees and parents.
Independent schools that are either incorporated in the United States or maintain foundations in the United States also have some legal concerns about which they should be aware. Fiduciary obligations, policies, reporting, all of these topics can be triggered by US laws.
Join this workshop with the General Counsel from the National Association of Independent Schools to engage in interactive dialogue with her and your colleagues to discuss these various concerns as well as ways to identify and manage these risks within your school.
Interactive dialogue and case studies will be used.
Ms Wilson will also present a session during the Business Managers Strand, Friday, Oct. 21. Learn more
