MEGAN HOLMSTROM is currently a Teaching & Learning Coach in K-8 Mathematics at the American School of Dubai. Throughout her 17-year career in education, she spent 12 years in the classroom, teaching at a variety of grade levels, before moving into curriculum and instruction, and coaching.
Previous to ASD, Ms Holmstrom was an adjunct faculty member at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, in the Center for Math & Science Teaching where she worked with public schools to develop teacher-leaders in elementary mathematics. Over the course of her career, she participated on an Instructional Materials Adoption Panel (California, 2005), as well as a Teachers of Mathematics Advisory Panel (California, 2009-2010). Ms Holmstrom was recently nominated to the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) Teaching Children Mathematics editorial panel.
In her free time, she works as a math consultant for independent schools both in the US and abroad, and in the past was a part-time consultant for Math Solutions, a Marilyn Burns company.
Ms Holmstrom has presented at NESA and ECIS annual conferences and training institutes, as well as various meetings and conferences throughout the US.
