MICHELLE L. RUPIPER is currently an Associate Professor of Practice and Assistant Department Chair for Child, Youth & Family Studies at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, USA, where she has taught since 1994. She has served as a classroom teacher for infants through school-aged children as well as directed community-based programs during her career.
Her belief that children deserve well-prepared, competent teachers who understand how children learn and are equipped to meet their needs has resulted in her conducting numerous international, national, regional and state presentations.
She has co-authored three books: Developmentally Appropriate Curriculum in Action (2013), Guiding Children’s Social Development and Learning, 9th ed. (2017) and Developmentally Appropriate Curriculum: Best Practices in Early Childhood Education, 6th ed. (2015).
She works to support teachers through her teaching, writing and workshop presentations. Dr Rupiper also enjoys spending time in nature (and connecting children and teachers to the natural world), children’s literature, travel, and spending as much time as possible with her three-year-old grandson Tristan!
