NESA School Membership
For over 50 years NESA has been serving member schools by facilitating sustainable and systemic school improvement based on the best practices of American and international education, with the goal of maximizing student learning.
Membership is open to any elementary or secondary private independent American/international overseas school or school system. To be eligible for NESA Member School Status, a school must be accredited by a NESA-recognized accreditation agency (CIS, MSA, or NEASC), offer a comprehensive standards-based US type curriculum with English as the primary medium of instruction, share and subscribe to NESA's mission, vision and core values, and wish to participate in NESA's conferences and institutes.

Play a Part in NESA Planning
As a NESA Member, you are invited to:
- Designate a Wider Circle Representative to serve as the line of communication between NESA and your school. Representatives have the opportunity to influence NESA programming, and receive an additional discount at one NESA Educator PD event*.
- Nominate a candidate to serve on the NESA Professional Development Advisory Committee (PDAC).
- Apply to serve on the NESA Board of Trustees.
- Participate in the governance of the organization by vote at the Annual General Meeting.
NESA Membership involves a rigorous application process, subject to NESA Board of Trustees approval. Being accepted means a school stands with the top international schools in the NESA region. As a NESA Member, you will receive a Member Certificate as well as materials to help share your membership status with NESA.

Take part each spring in NESA’s annual school Salary & Benefits Surveys for teachers and administrators, and access the consolidated information we receive from all participating NESA schools in the form of two anonymized reports.

Present Teacher Workshops
NESA Member School teachers will have the opportunity to apply to present a one-hour teacher workshop at a NESA event. Selected applicants are expected to attend the annual NESA Educators Learning Event (ELE).
