NESA School Membership
For over 50 years NESA has been serving member schools by facilitating sustainable and systemic school improvement based on the best practices of American and international education, with the goal of maximizing student learning.
Membership is open to any elementary or secondary private independent American overseas school or international overseas school. To be eligible for NESA Member School Status, a school must be accredited by a NESA-recognized accreditation agency (CIS, MSA, or NEASC), offer a comprehensive standards-based US type curriculum with English as the primary medium of instruction, share and subscribe to NESA's mission, vision and core values, and wish to participate in NESA's conferences and institutes.

Participate in the NESA Salary & Benefits Surveys
Take part in NESA’s annual school salary/benefit surveys for teachers and administrators and access the consolidated information we receive from all participating NESA schools in the form of two anonymized reports. The surveys are sent each spring.

Contribute to NESA NEWS
NESA members are invited to share news and announcements about their school by contributing articles and news items to the online NESA News.
NESA Membership involves a rigorous application process, subject to NESA Board of Trustees approval. Being accepted means your school stands with the top international schools in the NESA region.
Collaborate With NESA
As a NESA member, you are invited to:
- Designate a Wider Circle Representative to serve as the line of communication between NESA and your school. Representatives have the opportunity to influence NESA programming, and receive an additional discount at one NESA Educator PD event.
- Nominate a candidate to serve on the NESA Professional Development Advisory Committee (PDAC).
- Apply to serve on the NESA Board of Trustees.
- Participate in the governance of the organization by vote at the annual business meeting.
Present Teacher Workshops
Teachers at your school are eligible to apply to present a one-hour teacher workshop at a NESA Educator PD event. Information on how to apply is sent yearly to each school’s Wider Circle Representative.
