NESA School Membership
For over 50 years NESA has been serving member schools by facilitating sustainable and systemic school improvement based on the best practices of American and international education, with the goal of maximizing student learning.
Membership is open to any elementary or secondary private independent American/international overseas school or school system. To be eligible for NESA Member School Status, a school must be accredited by a NESA-recognized accreditation agency (CIS, MSA, or NEASC), offer a comprehensive standards-based US type curriculum with English as the primary medium of instruction, share and subscribe to NESA's mission, vision and core values, and wish to participate in NESA's conferences and institutes.

Play a Part in NESA Planning

- Designate a Wider Circle Representative to serve as the line of communication between NESA and your school. Representatives have the opportunity to influence NESA programming, and receive a discount at one NESA Educator PD event*.
- Nominate a candidate to serve on the NESA Professional Development Advisory Committee (PDAC).
- Apply to serve on the NESA Board of Trustees.
- Participate in the governance of the organization by vote at the Annual General Meeting.

Heads of NESA Member Schools are invited to attend the Annual NESA Spring Heads Summit for two days of learning.
Consult with NESA’s Executive Director
Heads of NESA Member Schools are invited to meet with NESA Executive Director Madeleine Hewitt for consultation and information on how NESA can best serve your needs.
Apply for Awards & Scholarships
NESA Member School students are invited to participate in awards and scholarships, including:
- The Stanley Haas-Luke Hansen Student Award for Grades 6-8, offering cash awards of $1,000 each to up to four finalists.
- The Margaret Sanders Scholarship for graduating seniors (administered by AAIE).
Membership Dues 2024-2025
Dues are based on student enrollment as of April 1 of the current year. All amounts are in US Dollars (USD).
Fees quoted are for the current membership year, running July 1 to June 30.
