The Margaret Sanders Scholarship

We are delighted to congratulate the NESA region winner of the
2019-2020 Margaret Sanders Scholarship:

American International School Chennai, India

Sanjana is President of the National Honor Society, Mentor on the Student Advisory Forum, Member of the Secretariat in Model United Nations and CHEMUN, and a leader in the Model UN Impact. An avid soccer player, she serves as Captain of the Varsity soccer team, and is SAISA Soccer MVP. She has won numerous awards, including the AISC Courage and Confidence, Leadership, and Compassion Awards, and the International THIMUN Qatar Peace and Service Award.

All of us at the NESA Center and in the NESA region commend her for her accomplishments, and wish her luck in achieving her goal of being a United Nations Medical Officer; whatever her path, we know she will put the Margaret Sanders Scholarship to good use in support of her educational aspirations and helping others.

The following students were also recognized at the 2020 AAIE Conference in New York in early February: 

  • Change Kim Molina, Colegio Decroly Americano, Guatemala City, Guatemala (Tri-Association)
  • Daniel Mekuriaw, International School of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (AISA)
  • Karina Vestergaard, Colegio Roosevelt, Lima, Peru (AASSA)
  • Nghi (Violet) Vo, American International School Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City (EARCOS)

The five students will each receive a US $4000 scholarship when they matriculate to university.
